***OPEN ME*** Another DIY for you guys - here's an easy recipe for lip balm. There are lots of different methods for making lip balm, but here's the most common (and easiest I think). Scroll down for information, ideas and alternative spins on this recipe. INGREDIENTS 1tbsp Vaseline/petroleum jelly (I got mine from the pound shop, also available at health & beauty/drug stores) 1tsp honey (organic if you prefer) Few drops essential/fragrance oil (can be found in health & beauty/aromatherapy stores) About 1/4tsp water-soluble colour (this can be an old eyeshadow, blush, lipstick, Mica powder, Lab colours, soap colour, other skin-safe colourant) ADDITIONAL INFO: - If you want a more pigmented colour, add more than 1/4tsp. Remember that it goes in the freezer, so it will end up a shade or two lighter. - I recommend you guys DON'T use food colouring. Food colouring does not dissolve in oil (petroleum jelly is an oil-based cream) and it will end up staining your fingers and possib! ly even your lips! - If things go wrong after you've melted the petroleum jelly, DO NOT pour it down the sink. It will solidify and potentially block the drain! Instead, soak it up with tissues and throw the tissues in the bin. - If some of the product settles on the bottom, don't worry. Use this as a lip scrub to exfoliate your lips once you've used up the actual balm part.
